World MS Day 2016 - May 25th
The University of Limerick are celebrating 5 years of partnership with MS Ireland. To mark World MS Day 2016, UL are hosting both a "9000 Steps for MS" fundraiser and a research event to showcase a selection of the research projects MS Ireland has funded and collaborated with UL on over the past 5 years.
“9000 steps for MS” Walk or Run
Start Time: 10:30 am
Location: Courtyard by Health Sciences Building/Irish World Academy, University of Limerick
Team up with friends, loved ones and co-workers to change the world for everyone affected by MS. There are 9000 people living with MS in Ireland, and together we will take one step for each of them to create awareness and raise vital funds for MS services in the community. Walk will be lead by former Munster and Ireland rugby player, Jerry Flannery.
9000 Steps can be achieved in lots of ways;
- A team of 5 could walk for 18 minutes each (approx. 1800 steps each)
- A team of 3 could walk for 30 minutes each (approx 3000 steps each)
- A team of 2 could jog for 20 minutes each (approx. 4500 steps each)
How you do it is up to you - wheather you walk or run, with or without assistance, our physiotherapy team will guide you on the day!
